Allison and Nic started dating the summer before their senior year at Luther College in Decorah, Iowa. They shared a similar group of friends, but it wasn’t until returning from their college study abroad trips that they were both ready for a relationship. Needless to say, their relationship progressed rather quickly and Allison and Nic became almost inseparable. They quickly realized how many things they had in common; world travel, art, and spending time with friends and family.

While backpacking for six weeks throughout Southeast Asia, Nic proposed to Allison on a beach in Southern Thailand. Allison said, “it was a beautiful sunset, the blue ocean and US… it was the perfect proposal and a wonderful conclusion to our trip.”

Soon after they returned, the wedding planning began! Allison had always envisioned an intimate garden setting with plenty of flowers. To accomplish this, the couple decided to marry at the flower-filled Como Park. They chose to use clover green, celery green and daffodil yellow for a clean and cheerful palette.

Allison and Nic reflected on how fortunate they were to have so many wonderful people celebrate with them on their special day. “It truly was the most amazing day for us and we will always remember how lucky we are to have each other and our friends and family who do so much for us.”


“The traveling photo booth was a tremendous hit at our wedding and made the guest book much more memorable and fun!”






Allison’s favorite memory of the night was their first dance as a married couple, along with her Dad’s speech, which he had been preparing for weeks. “It was something I will never forget… and if I do, I will have the video!”

Happy ½ year anniversary to Emily and Scott! Bellagala photographer, Angeli, was there to document every moment. Take a peek!



The Gale Mansion is located close to downtown Minneapolis and was built in 1912 in the style of Italian Renaissance Revival (ooh, ahh!)



The mansion is currently undergoing a major renovation, including the addition of an elevator, more restrooms, a brand new bar, a brand new kitchen and the most anticipated feature: a swanky NEW ballroom that seats up to 200 people! We’ve seen the Gale Mansion host weddings of 240 people, but guests have always been scattered throughout various rooms. We are thrilled for the mansion to be able to host 200 people in their brand new Ballroom, as the mansion expects renovations to be complete this coming May. (Keep your eye out for pictures of the finished remodel on the Bellagala blog.)

The Jan. 12 earthquake shook Haiti and destroyed much of Port Au Prince, and many families have yet to find consistent shelter and food. Kids Against Hunger is a national nonprofit with satellite locations in Minneapolis and New Hope, MN. The organization packs and sends meals to developing countries like Haiti. To date, the Minneapolis location as shipped over 800,000 meals to the people of Haiti.

The artists’ donations will go towards food and shipping costs for meals sent to Haiti in the next few months. The next shipment is unique because the container the food is shipped in will remain in Haiti to provide shelter for two families.
