From their undoubtable chemistry to their mutual amazing sense of humor, it’s hard not to think that Monica and Justin were simply meant for each other. However, that’s not the case. “We met at a sushi restaurant when we were all celebrating one of our mutual friends,” Monica shares, “we did NOT like each other at first.” Sure, there wasn’t that love-at-first-sight moment, but over time, their friendship grew and soon Monica found herself packing up her bags and leaving sunny San Diego to move to the Midwest to be with Justin. If that isn’t love, we don’t know what is!
When it came to their wedding day, Monica wanted to pay honor to her California roots and add a little west coast flair to their reception. “We went with light pastels, and lots of greenery and succulents. We were drawn to the Nicollet Island Pavilion for it’s exposed brick and outdoor tented space. We loved being able to have people play yard games and socialize during cocktail hour and then wander outside throughout the reception for pictures by the river.”
We loved every little detail of Monica and Justin’s wedding. And with 62 degrees and sunny weather, you couldn’t ask for a more perfect fall day.
